Bulgaria Facts, Fictions and Oddities

We’ve been spending much more time in Bulgaria than we’d originally planned, due to life getting in the way as it sometimes does. We’ve found it much more friendly this time around, and in honor of our friends’ patience (thanks Deni!) we’ve decided to compile a list of all things unusual that happen to be Bulgarian.

Horse and Carriage, Sofian Styles (Or How the Greeks Pushed Us Towards the Known)

Some of you know us, some of you don’t. But after 2 days at the Greek border, trying to get me, the American, through- we’ve come to a decision that seems to suit us: to get officially together.

Aunties in Italy: Milan-Venice-Florence

We’ve finally recovered from our adventures with the Aunties, we think. We stormed castles, delighted in Duomos, scarfed on wild boar, roamed Tuscany terrains and generally made a charming touristic nuisance of ourselves. Grin.

The crisp air, the colors- the atmosphere just feels more electric than sleepy summertime.
If our summer was cram-packed with too much/too many, our now is cram-packed with stability and that always boring noun, ‘work.’
I love my job. It’s different every day, even when I’m only focusing on one project.

Whirlwind Work Tour 2013: Full Circle, Back in Milan

We arrived back in Milan last night, after nearly 3 months of intense travel. Our highest points: the sunset over Berlin from a parking garage; revisiting old friends and making new ones; the seals on the French Coast.

France Facts: 30 Or So Things You Never Needed to Know

We’ve been spending our time in Paris semi-productively, even though we’re in one of those paused moments of waiting for X to Y so we can Z. We’re also quite domesticated here, for which we have Pablo (and his flat) to thank.

The flat’s located near Republic Square and is also home to the ‘weave factories.’ It’s a specialty section of Paris that caters to wigs, braids and weaves. Instead of stepping over doggie poo we’re navigating through chunks of fake hair cast offs. It keeps you on your toes. Ha.
